We have already passed the fascinating Tuscany metropole Florence where we had a very interesting guided city tour and we swoosh with a fairly quick calve exhausting speed up a 20% uphill road. A delicate buzzing reveals we are having some electrical support on our bikes. Being a member of the Tuscany E-Bike tour of Edelweiss Bike Travel, I'm enjoying this new experience to the fullest!

Arriving in Greve, the finest hams of the Macelleria Falorni welcoming us, unfortunately they are to heavy to carry in our cycling bags. Pinetrees and vines are guiding us on our way through the Chianti region. We reach San Gimignano, also know as the "town of fine towers" unique for its medieval architecture in the preservation of a dozen tower houses. We enter our hotel "Leon" which has medieval flair.

The next day we continue on the "Strade Bianche" which normally is the scene of the cycling classic "Eroica". Our tourguides make sure everyone is keeping up, staying safe and know everything about the region we are cycling through. In Montalcino we sit back and enjoy a pasta in safran sauce with coffeechips at the delicous slowfoodrestaurant "Boccon Divine".

Our next stop is a must see: the natural pools of Bagno San Philippi, it's magical to see what nature created here. Snowwhite lime bumps with hot thermal water where I let my tired legs relax. In the afternoon we enjoy a delicious picnic with local specialties and a beautiful view.

When at night the last few sunbeams light the Castello bar at the city walls of Pienza with a Aperol Spritz in my hand I let the 87 dream like kilometers pass and already look forward to he next day where we paddle further to Citta del Pieve and Orvieto!
